Hard to follow the exact history of this building as various written accounts of it and the area have conflicting dates, etc. It was built in 1909 in order to operate as a hotel for Chinese immigrants coming through the city. Various speakeasies have operated throughout the building and maybe around 1940 a portion of the hotel rooms on the top floor were demolished to make room for a big game room. While the 1st floor remained active, the top 2 floors were condemned around the 70s.
1. The top floor game room. Apparently the murals were painted directly onto the walls by Chinese immigrants.
