Exploration Tips

Hey everybody, another new guy on the block here. I'm hoping some people here would care to share some advice with me. I'm looking to do an explore pretty soon, and the only P.O.E. Is on the second floor of the building. I've scoped out the building a few times so far and have run into a problem. The P.O.E. that I'll be using is on the second floor just above a small slanted roof like what you would find over an exterior door. This is the problem though, there is no visible way to be able to easily climb up onto that small roof where the P.O.E. is. Does anyone have any tips on what. I could do to be able to easily access it?

A ladder, boost up from a friend, rope, climb up (If there are things you can climb on the wall, like pipes or something)

Maybe ask the owner?

Either a rope or just free climbing it will probably be my best bet. I'm afraid a ladder would be too conspicuous as the area is pretty open. Wouldn't do any good trying to find an owner, the place is mostly boarded up and awaiting demolition by the city.

Is there anything lying around the site that can be moved over there? IE a dumpster, random lumber, a bicycle, anything.

An old pallet makes a good short ladder in a pinch to give you enough height to climb up usually, if one is laying around. A thick pipe or similar long and strong object leaned firmly in a corner can serve the same purpose of boosting you a few feet.

May be overkill... But it is only $35

I recommend C4. Heights aren't for everyone.

That's where you set the C4 under you, and it blows you up through the window, right? Rocket jumping? Also works if you fire a bazooka directly downwards, at least in some of the games I've seen.

My ideal spot to climb to was architecturally designed to be "un-climbable." Need some way to jump over 35 foot plywood boards with no hand/footholds. And no, I can not throw a rope that far.

I think your best bet would be to use a ladder. Maybe go explore it on a holiday or something where a lot of people arent outside or in town? Thats usually when I go on the roof tops in town. Then have a friend take the ladder away or something like that so you dont have a random ladder sitting there.

Welcome fellow Ohioan!

Dayton is an awesome place to explore. When it gets warmer ask your fellow explorers about the Gymnasium. It's sweet.

I gotta make another trip there soon.. Anyhow, get crafty! Is there anything around that can be used to climb on?

Do you know any wicked ass parkour moves? I carry 30ft of rope with me for just the occasion. And of course for if someone falls into a inaccessible basement.
