I was reading something earlier about how no one ever questions a uniform. Made me wonder if wearing an orange safety jacket when exploring would lower the chances of someone calling the police if they spotted you. Anyone ever done that?

Yeah it's been done many times before, it's a good credibility prop for infiltrating construction sites (especially if combined with a hard hat) and the likes, but you should totally forget it if you're to infiltrate, let's say, an office tower...

Depends on locations. Abandoned building being remodeled or having asbestos removal, good chance. Inside buildings, not really. Its a good insertion outfit for a lot locations inner city.

It's a good way to get you noticed quicker, as well.

I've done this quite a few tines.
I've also sat outside an abandoned building (but on private property) wearing hi-vis eating my lunch until passerbys have left.
For places that have nosey neighbours I have made up fake Job Reports for weed spraying and repairs to fences. I've told neighbours we'll be spraying tomorrow and we're just having a look to make sure we've got everything covered and I reassure them that there are no harmful chemicals in the spray (which there isn't ;) ) but they can keep their pets secure in their yard for 48 hours just to be sure.

I'm older and get into character pretty well so it might he harder for younger explorers.

It's fun

In this video I end up getting seen (not shown in the video) but as I'm wearing hi-vis and the fact that there are so many contractors involved in the pre-demolition works they just presumed I was meant to be there.

If you can't be reasonably stealthy, sometimes it helps to be the opposite.

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

You should be arrested for those pants alone.

You look pretty much like you might be officially employed wherever you are. Probably acting bored to add to the monotonous job your acting out.

I used to own a used Milwaukee County DPW truck. Fluorescent yellowish F-150, complete with the yellow light bar. Came in handy for premium parking when I used to drain. A yellow vest and hardhat completed the costume. Bonus tool kit included a line laser on a tripod, and of course, a clipboard. Not once did I ever get a second look....
