Sorry if this is too much, but the place is so immense.
Don’t suppose anyone has mapped out all the tunnels? As little as we covered it seems like it may only connect 3 buildings, but we didn’t follow them to the other ends.
I’m not an ‘artsy’ photographer, take pics to remember the day, but this guys looked so lonely…
Looks like the water bed was too heavy…

Couldn’t see a thing – this took 13 seconds :-/
Gotta have toilet shots…
This brings new meaning to potty training… (don’t know if this was part of the navy, or of the job corps)
Also, does anyone know what the large compartments under the drill hall were for? I guess it was the opposite side of the swimming pool, but I can’t find any information on it. If you’ve been here, you’ll recognize the three entrances on the left…

really nice shots! I don't recognize some of them, are they from the the building at the far end of the field? (to the right, if you're looking at the front of the main building). That's the only one I haven't been in.

Damn dude that place looks great but is the most of it caving in on itself or just certain places? Sidenote that paint brush and peeling paint combo is pretty sweet.

The tunnels are sealed off for the most part. Didn't think anybody else wasted their time walking around in them. And no clock tower shots? I'm disappointed. The view up there is great.

Did you try going up to the bell tower?
About half are from the Job Corps side. …what bell tower? Here’s the one building you weren’t in then – not missing much – though I admit, I didn’t get upstairs.

The boxing ring is going to require some imagination…

Um, mostly caving in on itself.

Also, this should be in mid Atlantic.
We entered from Van Buren, went across the court yard – also goes to the east, but we didn’t go to the end in either direction (popped up in the middle of the court yard).
And, yup …wrong side of the border fail. What happens when you're reading others, then just post in the forum your in :-/
Everyone posts clock tower shot’s, and it was an overcast day, so I’m not wild about them, but anyway…
When I first saw your pic on my phone I thought, Awesome – my desire to check the other three drill halls has been validated! But, a closer look and sadly, this looks like one of the buildings converted for J.C. training.
How long ago did you take this (I see graffiti from 2010)? If it has been a while, it’s possible that this is in one (of the many) collapsed portions.

Posted by Maglyte the water treatment plant is cool
3 ½ hrs one trip, 6 ½ the next, and still didn’t make it back there :-/
Posted by krush Nice. The power plant is cool. Did you try the master quarters? The basement of one is fallout shelters.
Thanks! I concur, the power plant was prob my second favorite building on the school side (from a photogenic perspective - you probably recognize the window/lamp shot), even though I got side tracked and forgot to go upstairs :-/ We hit a few of the master’s/officer’s quarters, that’s where the collapsed bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen are. Didn’t think to check for a fallout shelter (didn’t see any signs). Now that you mention it, the Inn had a fallout shelter sign, but we got side tracked when we found the tunnels. The basement didn’t look like much of a shelter, though . . . unless there’s a lower level – hmmm…
