Oh look, this forum is still here.
When I first moved to Korea in 2003, the first thing I did was track down the local music scene. I was lucky enough to make it to a big punk show with 14 bands for only 10 bucks, just a few weeks after landing.
Back then it wasn't very well known that there were bands playing non-K-pop music, but if more people had known, they might have been really angry. I saw the punk scene as being almost exactly the same as in Edmonton, my hometown, only the hardcore bands were a lot more friendly and everyone was Korean.
