Cell phone camera? If possible, try to hold it against a hard surface (even just leaning against a wall helps tremendously) when you take pictures. That might help them come out more clearly. It doesn't look like there's much motion blur going on, but I'm not sure the rest can be helped without a different camera altogether.

On the subject of the house, though, I love the toys! It's always surreal to find toys lying around like that. It's much easier for adults to leave their things behind than for kids. It takes special circumstances to make everyone in the family give up their possessions like that.

It's actually a video camera that also takes pictures. The lighting in that house was awful. :p I hit up an abandoned warehouse yesterday and the pictures came out much better, I'll post them tomorrow.

I never thought about that, actually. There were lots of children's toys, I wonder why they were left behind? Its kind of sad when you think about it.
