Did someone call me? I`m out in Bowmanville, but there some stuff around here if you want to come on out I'd be happy to show you round.

I have run in to:
- Scrappers
- Zoth!! It was scary! lol ;)
- previous explorers excrement
- a weird half naked man exercising outside Kodak

Welcome to the site. There are some interesting people, there are some creeps, there are some others, take your time in finding out who is who . Feel free to PM me with questions.

As far as I'm concerned, there was not a damn thing wrong with your hat. Security-hag was probably thought otherwise. The cop didn't give a shit.

Yeah. Only situations where I've been ticketed are when security is pressuring police to press charges. Was once caught by an officer who allowed us to finish exploring once he confirmed we weren't hooligans burning things.

I've always chosen to approach police when there's little chance of escape. Usually gets a better response than them chasing and ultimately catching. As mentioned previously, in Ontario, the most likely threat is a $65 fine with no criminal record. In theory this can escalate but that's a lot of paperwork and nobody likes paperwork. Unless you're carrying B&E tools or stolen goods, you should be fine.

There's a large number of female explorers in the GTA but many of them have become inactive on the forums. I'm sure you'll meet some eventually.

Baby like the way I wake her up, 'Cause I'm a gangsta, I grab her by the butt, Pull her to my side, I'm in deep, Woke that ass up just to put her to sleep

I wouldn't want to understate the inherent dangers of exploring... The people you run into aren't necessarily going to throw down their coat over the puddle in front of you.
That being said, the only people I've really had to look out for were contract security or cops.

The inherent dangers of urbex are well-known, but by the accounts here it seems like the dangers are less.. Pressing, i suppose, than in Manilla or Busan.

So what I gather, Toronto (& Ontario more broadly) is a pretty safe place to go exploring. Not too much to worry about it seems, so far as squatters and scrappers. Sounds like security is lax and cops are chill, taggers are polite and others are deferential.

Careful, photographers are mental.

Well, I did my first Toronto sites yesterday. As per your advisings, there was no trouble. Seriously - not even security (though one did have heavy security so maybe I'm just stealthy).

I'll post up pics (late) tonight.
