Spray or brush on?

I can honestly say I've never considered this question.

I would go powder coat personally. Or just rust. I use rust on most my vehicles.

Won't the oil burn off when they heat up?

I've always sprayed, but I hear brush-on is typically more durable. Did it leave obvious brush strokes or did the paint settle smoothly?

I painted my calipers with some left over engine paint, the regular shit you buy from autozone or whatever. did it four or five years ago still look good if you clean them.

it did. the thing i liked about the brush on paint was there was no overspray. When I had the 05 Cobalt, we sprayed the calipers and despite my best efforts at masking off the car, it still seemed like overspray ended up everywhere.

I never considered engine paint... Hmmm.

actually, it does serve a purpose when you live an area where salt is dumped on the roads 6 months of the year.

Spray-on engine enamel works really well- especially if you use a high heat clearcoat afterwards to keep things shiny.

the 05 Cobalt we did with spray on, the 07 Cobalt SS we did brush on.
Never did clearcoat either one, though.
Wish I had.
