I don't know, perhaps I've been looking at the wrong site, but I don't think your pictures are bad at all.
Also the way I see it, there's few ways of maintaining a UE site, either the "artistic" way or then a document style, which in my opinion doesn't need necessarily any art photos.

I hope I'm something from between those two...

But you are absolutely correct in the fact, that if you need to be quick in the location, you don't have the time to setup and take that "great" picture. I've noticed this also.

Yeah, when I was in Minneapolis, thought there was nothing interesting there to explore at all, I saw Krazy (Macguyver) take about 10 minutes on a picture... Meanwhile, on places like the alarmed houses, I've been in run through the place and snapped about 10 pics, and back out in aprox 2 minutes. Definitely some differences in the way we have to explore some places.

I do enjoy setting up with my tripod and trying to get some good pictures, I just can't do that very often around here...

I don't think blurry pictures are bad, anyway, as long as the have the sort of furitive, tense nature that a high risk infiltration has.

Sometimes I bring the tripod and all my gear, in full art mode, and come home with nothing. sometimes i just have a point and shoot digital and less than a minute to pic my shots, and i end up with some of my best stuff - because it captures the moment and emotion behind, even if it is blurry or lighted poorly or whatever.

Certainly, if you're running on an adrenaline junkie style of exploring, then we probably don't have a lot of great stuff here. After you get into most of our locations, there are few to no risks of security catching you. It really depends on what you're looking to get out of exploring.
Bear in mind, however, that with a fairly modern autofocus camera and some knowledge of how to use it, there really isn't a need for blurry pictures either. I've explored with people who had no patience whatsoever for me to take pictures and have had to take them on the go and they still tend to turn out in focus (if not as good as they would if I had time to really set them up).

By "On the go" Do you mean actually moving while you take the picture, or do you mean stop-for-a-little-while. Cause one is Actually on the go, and one isn't. If you are actually jogging/walking along and still taking unblurred photos with your everyday autofocus camera, my respect for you is much higher!

This is quite possible with a good flash (in the dark) or a fast lens (if there's some light)... of course then you have the problem of attracting attention with the flash.

I'm with Jam here, with a good tote for all your equipment, you can get in and out of places quickly, but most of the locations around here, once you're inside, you're golden. I've never actually been pursued by security through a building...

For an opinion that knows, ask Kowalski. He's definitely a good photographer, nd he's been out here and shown a bit of what circumstances I deal with. He probably understands it best...

I like your pictures, just too few of some sites. Ever considered making return trip's months apart? We divide large sites into sections and do one a trip. We dont usually get what we were quite looking for but we are always pleased by the results. So what if some shots turn out a little blurry, Everyone of us does best with what we have.
