Has anybody been through Millbrook Jail? I have been twice now, and both times, had some pretty scary situations. ~July, 2013 - Myself, and 4 others decided to make the trip over, and try to gain access to the facility. Upon arrival, front gates were all locked up, so we knew we would have to park a little bit away and walk up. 10:20 PM arrival, parked at the vet clinic adjacent to the property. Got the flashlights, and camera, and headed up the hill. 5 minutes later, it comes into sight, the power distribution centre for the huge red brick structure. Almost eerie walking up to a place like this, but that is the best part! made one walk around the entire facility, thru the stable area, around the courtyards with 25 foot tall brick walls, around the administration part of the building, and back to the power area. No POE's! all the doors had been welded shut, 1" plywood panels on the few windows that were there. I thought we were going to have to leave without entry. but while walking, we discovered 2 things. A hole dug under the electrical site, which led under the wall, into what looked like a basement, or another way that I will get into in a moment. I peeked my head into this hole, only to find that it lead nowhere. But while walking the perimeter the second time, we spotted something strange.(POE Hidden for public interest) We shortly found out that the only way to gain access to the "cells" area, was to go across the courtyard. One careful, and quiet step at a time, and we made it into the cell block. there was a room filled with sewing machines, a room filled with old license plates, and many, many cells. We explored for hours, until we decided to split up. my brother, his friend and I went up to the third level church, and my 2 friends went to the 2nd level cell block. We made it thru a ladder in the chapel, which took us to a maintenance area, and eventually to the roof on the opposing side that we came in. As soon as we went out onto the roof, we noticed it. Car lights shining up onto the walls of the courtyard. This is when I realized that if caught, we would not be subject to simple $65 trespass fines, but infringing on a government compound. I called my buddy, and told him to meet us on 2nd floor, by the centre guard tower. He said ok. 4 minutes later, we were at the guard tower, waiting for them, and seen a light around the corner. I was sure it was them, but whistled just to be sure. The unknown person around the corner whistled back, but laughed afterwards. It was NOT them! We dropped down thru the guard tower to the first level, and got to the door into the courtyard, which had since been closed and locked (from out side) since our arrival. After a phone call to my friend, we met up at the guard tower, and got out of dodge. After escaping, we noticed an OPP cruiser parked with no lights in the stable that was just empty, and another one parked behind the power grid. RUN, RUN, RUN to the truck, and get the hell outta' there! We ended up getting out without anything happening, but that was by far one of the scariest trips I have made to date. My friend told me afterwards that he ran around a corner when he was trying to meet up with us, and came within 25 feet of the officer, right in his flashlight. We got lucky that night, and decided not to go back ever again...... 2 weeks later, we went back again, with a better escape strategy. This trip was less eventful, but yielded much better photography, and quite a few less small heart attacks.
