I don't know how many of you know of Christopher Moore.

That's funny, I just finished Lamb, and I've read Island of the Sequined Love Nun already. They're not bad.

If you like Christopher Moore, there's a British author named Christopher Brookmyre who is much along the same vein. I've read One Fine Day in the Middle of the Night, and enjoyed it thoroughly. It's a little silly, but enjoyable.

Cat's Cradle

Great book, humorous and somewhat insightful. A good book for light reading.

I went out and bought Samurai a hard copy because he won't read etexts. I've done that with a lot of my books. I buy the etext for me and buy a hard copy for him or to loan out. My favorite of Moore's is "Lamb" though. I've read that book alone probably 10 times because it's just that good and that interesting. Sam loved it, which says quite a bit about it.

I'll have to go look that guy up though.

I think though, the most underrated writer I've read lately and can recommend is Robert McCammon. If you get the chance, pick up "Swan Song".

That and Fred Saberhagen, who wrote this interesting Dracula series, basically the Bram Stoker story through Dracula's eyes. It's kind of tongue in cheek, not really funny, but if you've read the original Dracula...you might find some of it a laugh.

I've read "They Thirst" a couple of times, and will definitely read it again. You have good taste!
