| | | Earlier this month, my partner and I went on a much-needed camping retreat to their homeland in Northern Wisconsin. Bayfield Apple Fest gave way to tooling around for two days looking for abandoned stuff and not finding a great deal, but enjoying what we did. This was the first house we stumbled upon, off a remote stretch of state highway north of Bayfield. Neither of us were comfortable with the structural integrity of the place to endeavor to try the stairs to the remaining second floor room, though they were still present, or to go down to the basement. | | | Posted by crows Chuck: thanks man! It was way up there, heading toward Cornucopia. The ore dock is gone. its old location was pointed out to me, but they tore it down earlier this year, partner's dad sent photos at the time (he's down in Park Falls now). We'll definitely be back up, and I hope to do more easterly stuff, call on relik, etc. I was pretty taken with the north woods, though. Wind really does make a distinct sound through tall pines! And the fried cheese curds! Oh my fuck!
| Easterly stuff, like bunnies and hard-boiled eggs and stuffs? ;] Cheese curds, fried or not, are quite fantastic. I'm a big fan of the non-fried white cheddar with garlic and dill.
