Spooky Tub House

Dusk was approaching as I made my way home a few weekends ago, but as I drove down a dirt side road I spied what looked to be a tin roof peeking through bush. By now, I've gotten pretty good at hasty 3 point turns.

At the end of an overgrown driveway sits a small farmhouse long abandoned with some cool surprises inside. I wish I had taken multiple shots of some things, but of course I didn't have my flashlight (booo) and dark was coming.

Thanks for looking!

I'm with Skatchkins for #2. Looks like a leak started on the back half of the house and someone made a half-hearted attempt to begin reinforcing the roof with sheet metal before realizing it was a losing battle.

That tub crashing through the ceiling is great! Too bad it wasn't impaled head-first into the floor.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

@ Skatchkins I"m always surprised at which photos people like...didn't think anyone would really notice #2. I made my way around the left of the building in that shot. The tub is directly under that huge roof hole.

I didn't think to look for a giant piece of tin roof laying around. One good gust of wind is enough to send that stuff spinning off like a decapitationmobile (not a real word but nothing else fits haha)

Too bad it wasn't impaled head-first into the floor.

They made these places too well for that!! If it were a cookie cutter the tub would be in the cellar.

I've heard of a bed and breakfast, but a bath and brunch? Huh...

Sorry, bad joke.

Beautiful post!! #4 is my favourite shot -I love the peeling green paint. I love places that aren't completely done for in terms of graffiti and vandalism. Awesome, thanks!

Haha! A bad joke is better than none at all, that's what I say

Thanks so much! I really could have ventured further into that room, but without being able to see much of the floor, the thought of falling into the basement terrified me. You should have seen me creeping around that place; you'd think I was navigating a mine field.

Thanks Misunderstood! That drawing was so cool to find. Judging by the discoloration I think it was hiding under the wallpaper for most of it's life. Interesting that someone did this in such a tiny room no bigger than a closet (top room at apex in photo 1). Maybe they knew I would be there to see it 100 years later ;)
