With the direction of 11023517141 I was able to get into an abandoned sugar mill in Colorado. I am absolutely in love with this place. The compound is huge. Awesome graffiti, awesome scenery. I spent 3 hours in here and it was amazing discoveries around every corner. Would definitely go back.

7. This is what intrigued me to go to the mill in the first place. This has got to be the best use of an existing structure I have ever seen

Gorgeous location. Wish it weren't so riddled with graffiti

Pacman and the ghosts are the best, aside from all the toxic chemicals of course.

How far did you go along that underground tunnel/stream in #12?

I went here a year ago at night. Did you have any trouble getting in during the day? I really want to hit this place up during the day to get better photos but I'm super paranoid about being seen.

tranqfx - I can appreciate well done graffiti. Lot of quality pieces in here. The building with the catwalk was completely free of graffiti.

dashrp - I love the PACMAN. My favorite piece to date as far as using existing objects

meanwhileinfoco - I didnt go far at all. It was only about a 4ft tunnel with standing water in it - and the water was COLD

Cairo - Once we were inside there was no way you can be seen. Even in that little alleyway, its completely sheltered from the outside world. The business behind it (with the road in front of you) was running a full crew and there was still plenty of distance to be unseen. We hurried across the ... BZZZZZT ... but we could have walked and been just fine I suspect

So there's a handful of sugar mills in Colorado. I've been in three or four, including the one your featured (since I live super close). But there are more epic places to explore, if you can get in to them anyhow.

Great photos BTW.

Thanks! I'm in Colorado (normally Denver area) a couple times a year. I've been to a lot of places local to there but this has been my favorite so far. I'd be interested in knowing what could possible top that

Brings back great memories.
Were the owners there?

Do the owners frequent the place? I've never seen anyone else there the couple times I've been there.

I was there 4-5 hours, didn't see or hear anything but did bump into another explorer, with her mom, "ghost hunting"

Oh wow, that place looks incredible. What a great find. I love that there are so many tanks and whatnot still there, so you can kind of imagine what their function was.
