My problem is that most the people in my crew don't do heights, but they don't bother me. There was construction in the next town over and they had this big crane that I wanted to climb but they weren't down for. I'm sure if my friend that did clap pull-ups 40 feet up in the air (That's a different story) was there I would of had a buddy to go do it.. I think some people though just don't do heights in the first place, and they definitely won't be doing them in a sketchy place!

I'm terrified of heights. I've been on a few rooftops where I refused to get within like 4 feet of the edge. me and a few friends tried climbing some scaffolding going up the tower of an old church in town and we didn't get far to say the least. maybe 120 feet? I'll infiltrate and go up on the roof of any skyscraper no problem. won't see me anywhere close to the edge though!

I also have an odd fear when climbing that I will drop my phone. anyone else have this?? like removing my cell for a picture my hands are just shaking if it's anywhere my phone could fall and smash.

I actually just did one of my first actual experiences with heights. I wouldn't really call it an explore, me and a few friends were just out taking some pictures. We were on this farm land with a few abandoned houses on it, the farm lands are active, but being winter their isn't much activity. On the land there is a big piece of farm machinery with a small platform at the top. Despite being uneasy with heights, I decided I was going to suck it up and climb it. It was nothing major, 60-70 feet high maybe. The platform at the top was extremely tiny making it hard to get good pictures.

All in all though I'm proud I climbed it. I even think i became more comfortable and want to take on bigger climbs as well.

That actually the exact thing I just experienced! I kept thinking i was going to knock my camera off the end, or drop my phone. It made me so hesitant to pull anything out to take pictures, or even move for that matter.

Yes - or falling really, but I try to work with it. I once took the opportunity to ride the Wind River canopy crane over the trees. While others chatted, I spent the whole time telling myself how stupid the whole fear thing is. My hand prints are probably still embedded in the steel of that gondola railing. Had I been able to go up and down a few more times, I probably would have conquered that one. As for photos - well, I would have had to let go of that railing - didn't happen.

I just climbed a 300 ft tall ladder last night without a safety cage. Not that bad at all...

looking at those pictures i would say HELL NO or be shaking a lot. I can push through it but some times I just say no. Sometimes that has saved my life so I cant complain.
Recently i was thinking of climbing the ladders inside of one of these silos to that top building but it was 20-30 stories up a rusty ladder with no ropes. Hell no

Cross-country skier's strategy; when considering whether to ascend a slope, go up it a ways, then come back down. If that went all right, go up it more.

Looking at some of these pictures gave me anxiety lol. I'm okay with heights to an extent, but after I get so high I'm like, "nope, that'll be enough." I'm always worried I'll slip and fall, or something will break and I'll fall to my death.

I've also found going on the way up is generally fine, but coming down is a pain in my ass.

I use to be pretty afraid of heights, but I have completely overcome that fear and now enjoy getting high up.

Heights are exhilarating. However I can't prevent my hands from sweating instinctively and unless I'm wearing a solid pair of climbing gloves, they quickly lose grip.
