I was curious to know if there were any updates on this place.

To give you a summary of why I'm interested:

I was arrested there in 2011 by a SWAT team inside the building, and had my car broken into while I was in jail:

^ TL;DR: Arrested by SWAT team with assault rifles and attack dogs. Dog was let go on my friend, who has badly hurt, tricked into declining medical attention, and then we spent 8 hours in a cell, my friend still bleeding everywhere. Exploring has never been the same for me since.


Shortly after, another member, JohnQuincyDobbs, was arrested there, also by a SWAT team inside the building, and also had his car broken into while in jail:

It's a really lame location, honestly. Wide open, easy to get into, and nothing of any value inside, so I'm very confused about why they seem to care so much about the place. I've never been allowed to get a copy of the police report (they said I needed a lawyer to do that) and I still have SO many unanswered questions about what happened that day. I just wanted to see if anyone had any updates.

SO, has anyone else been arrested there? Or, anyone been and NOT been arrested? Any news articles about the place? Other updates?

And just as a public service announcement:
DO NOT GO THERE! You will be arrested by a SWAT team, and have your car broken into. No joke. And it's not that cool anyway.

I heard the city is using it for storage these days. Its illegal for the cops to hold a police report im sure. After talking with you about this location i have never cared to risk this spot.

They initially told me I couldn't get a copy without a lawyer, since I'm listed as a "suspect" in the case. So I had a local lawyer friend try to get a copy, but he couldn't get it either. Not exactly sure what they told him.

I wonder if I could get it now with a FOIA request?

I would recommend actually hiring an attorneythat practices in that districtetc.

I was told to never go near here. It's still standing.

BPD is shady. Cant believe you still cant get a report.

Had a run-in with BPD once downtown OUTSIDE of an abandonment. 4 police cars and 45 minutes later they let me go. They are not nice.

As an aside here, I can't thank you enough for all that you did for us! Thank you!!!

And I know it isn't exactly where you normally work, but if you ever happen to come across any kind of policy change or something that might affect this, let me know! I still really want that police report!

I'll make a mental note. I am down that way from time to time.
