Checked Wilson subway yard, but didn't find it

Where did abandoned TTC go?

It got hauled out for scrap a while back, due to the expansion of Wilson yard.

Took this set back in 2011 (about a year before those photos in the article):

As Archer said, they're gone now. They were removed sometime around the summer of 2013 I believe (edit: or 2012, actually). Here's a birds-eye view on Bing maps (Google Maps have since been updated).

At one point they had another train car, an H6 I believe, but it was removed much quicker. It was much closer to the building (though it was off the tracks). Almost got spotted both by two TTC drivers - one standing on the roof of the building having a smoke and one pulling into the yard in one of the new Toronto Rockets, and by some firefighters who were doing drills (or something) next door at the airport.

I'd heard that they were used by Toronto Police to train on, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. When I first visited it was clear nobody had been there for a while, but there was also a step stool inside the door so that people could easily get in/out.

Abandoned public transit has always been one of my favourite kind of explorations. There used to be a junkyard outside Ottawa that had a lot of old busses. I think it's gone now....

Those are some nice pictures while the location lasted.

Me too!

I think there's an abandoned train yard in north of US, and I've read one article talking about abandoned planes collected by Walter Soplata.

Hey I remember this! Was quite a puzzling situation.

Yeah, it was strange. Probably just out training.

Nice, but this is not really an abandoned station they still use most of it.

There's quite a bit of unused station there… definitely worthwhile checking it out, if you're able to.
