| | | lots of places....air liquide, brafasco, bolts plus, McMaster carr, Acklands Grainger, Composites Canada, CCP Composites, Curry's art supplies. The 2097 are particularly common (we order them by the case for work) and not terribly expensive. Pro-tip: make sure you buy the 2097 and not the 2091 cartridge if you're going into dank or mouldy places. They're both P100 filters, but the 2097 has an internal carbon filter which is certified for "nuisance level" protection against odors and noxious gases. It's not a replacement for an organic vapor cartridge in an application that would otherwise require one (painting, etc..), but it's great for reducing smells and odors inside musty old buildings.

| | | Posted by unlighted-zero Just get a simple P100 mask at one of the home improvement mega chains. you don't need all of that fancy nonsense unless you're exploring a lot of active or recently active industrial sites, contrary to what a bunch of overly paranoid people might say.
| With the exception of the multi-gas cartridge (which, although I don't use one myself, isn't the worst idea in the world, depending on the locations you're exploring...), that's precisely what he's done. The 3M 6000 half piece mask and 2097 filter are pretty basic, low-end pieces of PPE - certainly not anything "fancy". The off-brand models they sell at Home Depot are perfectly adequate, but they're not built as well, not as comfortable, only marginally less expensive and not nearly as common (think replacement cartridges down the road) as 3M. 3M stuff is very well designed with ergonomics and comfort top of mind, and there's a good reason why they're so big and so popular. Buy a cheaper mask if you feel the need to save like $12, but otherwise I'd strongly suggest looking into something from 3M - you'll notice the difference right away. $0.02
