air bag is pretty basic to install, aftermarket is a different story

So here's a update:

I've had to replace the starter back in September on this beast; its so nice working on a full size truck chassis as the whole job took me like 10 minutes!

I've added in my 2nd battery with wiring for auxillary stuff for SAR like radios, inverters, aux lights, etc, but I need to replace my house battery so I'm shopping around...probably will get a Deka Intimidator. I did get my rear flood light working; the previous wiring was used after I figured out that one of the lines was a ground wire as it isn't self grounding.

Also forgot, next up I'm going to tackle into why the power locks aren't working.

And I got a free set of studded winter tires for this beast.

So, I managed to get the power locks working again...turns out I had ONE wire not plugged into the fuse block and voila!

I'm reading up on simple 350 TBI upgrades I can do...would like a little more power out of it. One thing I see is something my uncle did, was go to a open intake to get more airflow.

At some point, I need to replace the front discs but since this is a truck, I'll need to break out the puller and also do the bearings....ugh...I might see if I can get my shop friends to do for a beer.

So I took the Suburban out to the Oregon Coast last weekend (think Kindergarten Cop) and on the way back, I had the AC stop working; looks like from my diagnosis, its only the clutch thankfully not the compressor; that part I can get from Rock Auto cheap and do the swap apparently without using a puller according to some local rednecks who BTW, sometimes do have a certain truth to their advice...

However, the weird thing that also occurred too was that my drivers side power window motor stopped working; checking it with the multi-meter I do show its sending voltage out of the switch; but a more common issue is with the connector on the motor, so I'll remove the door panels and take a look.

I did finally do the plugs/wires/rotor and cap the other day; it runs better actually.

Lucky! No one seems to sell just the AC clutch for mine. Well, I did see it one place, but it was as much as a compressor from Autozone.

Yeah....I have the LT4 Harrsion compressor, which from what I understand, uses a common clutch that GM still uses today. I did find out if I ever need it, Autozone has a rebuilt Harrison unit for 113.00.

Some good news though: I got my drivers power window working again; turns out it was just the power connector came out of the motor; after some fun sticking hands down a door channel, I got it re-installed. Now I can enjoy drive-thrus again...

LOL! On my old Won'tstart, er, Windstar, the driver's window failed and the shop wanted $700 to fix it because rather than the switch activating the motor, it told the computer to operate the motor. So, it ended up permanently rolled up, which made drive throughs impossible (unless someone was in the back seat). So I got used to going in, a habit I still have 6 years later.

Hmm...looking at something here...it looks like the computer just sends a 12V signal to a relay...I'm betting you could of bypassed the computer and just put in your own switch to the relay.

Astro/Safari was interesting....they were more of attempt to sell minivans to light truck owners with their towing capabilities. And they were priced well above the Caravan.

We have an Astro at work. It's... interesting. Yeah, footwell space leaves something to be desired, especially for a 6-footer like me. Other than that, it's not horrible. I prefer our Ford full-size vans, though.

Yeah, I'm not sure what research GM did in designing the van; but it sure has a funky layout. I've worked on a few vans and that engine compartment is a pain. Interestingly, on Expedition Forums, some of the guys who use them as custom campers told me they actually pull the body off the frame to work on the motor.
