Many Provincial Offences have undergone revisions (eg. handheld devices) and increased fines. The TPA however hasn't been revised since 2000 and as you can see, the chief justice of the Ontario Court of Justice has set the fine at $50.

As far as I know nothing's changed - so the Trespass FAQ remains unchanged. If it comes to light that someone receives a $2000 fine, I'll gladly update it with the details - and probably find a different hobby

It is technically possible to get fined $1,000 for trespassing, especially if you try to fight your ticket and lose very badly. You could also get fined $2,000 under the TPA if they summon you to court instead of writing the ticket. You would have to do something pretty bad to get that though. It's hard to imagine them slapping that on you for wandering into an old building. That law is there to punish people from doing something very bad on someone else's property. Leave the knife at home and you probably won't get such a fine.

The sign said "Anybody caught trespassin will be shot on sight"
So I jumped on the fence and I yelled at the house,
"Hey! What gives you the right?" http://www.flickr.com/photos/evman/

Yikes, I have yet to really explore and I have been here for ages.

Definitely, having more reservations, if people carry spoons around. What the fuck?

I'm a supporter of gay rights. & not a closet supporter either. From the time I was a kid, I've never been able to understand attacks upon the gay community. There are so many qualities that make up a human being. By the time I get through with all the things that I really admire about people, what they do with their private parts is probably so low on the list that it is irrelevant. - Paul Newman

Avoiding a criminal charge but still being able to protect yourself is what long body, solid metal flashlights were created for.
Here is what I carry:

This one is a bit pricey, but absolutely perfect for our hobby. Rechargeable, ultra-bright, and has a beam width setting that I almost entirely leave on wide. It lights an entire room from one side to the other with a uniform, giant circle. No need for light painting and I find that it often does the same job as a camera speedlite.

I'd like to mention again that I was not carrying the knife into a building
