Nice to see another person in Dayton!
I remember exploring the Executive in 2009, and it was nearly pristine. Most of the hotel looked like it was business as usual; beds were still made, most rooms were clean, etc. She was a shell of her former self at the time of demolition.
Nice video, can't wait to see the full documentary!

Hey thanks man! Yeah i found some photos online and it looked like a nice place back in the day. Once I read about the tax debt it had it just interested me more and more.
I'm actually trying to work on a webseries to document some of the historical buildings in Dayton now that they are tearing so much down, like the DP&L Steam Plant.

Eh, I don't know about nice, but the Executive wasn't a roach motel or anything. We did come across both fire and water damaged rooms that had simply been closed to the public instead of cleaned up prior to it's abrupt closing.
The steam plant is coming down? Last I heard, it was being turned into apartments, but the developer had ran out of money. Guess I wouldn't be too surprised if they gave up and opted to knock it down. Shame, it was pretty cool before they gutted it.

Yeah I actually talked to the construction crew and they are just removing the back end of the building, with all the metal railings & staircases. I guess they are still hoping to use the front.
