Wow great price! Any idea if the purple replacement filters are on sale? They usually sell for $30 for a pair but never seem to go on sale.

opinions may vary, but I never really cared for any of the Stanley (and North) respirators. 3M ones are vastly superior (again, in my opinion) in terms of both comfort and quality of materials. They're also cheaper.

The 6000 series half-mask ones are like $20 and you can get the regular P100 (2071) filters for around $15 or $20 a piece.

I suppose for sporadic use the Stanley ones arent a bad deal at only $30, but anyone paying full price is getting hustled badly.

Sold! Thanks for the link. Any suggestion as to how one would decide between medium and large?

I'd say I've got an "average" size face and I go with a Large. I've got one or two mediums and they work, but they're a bit tighter and tend to slip down towards my chin after extended use.

Excellent!... the 3M website has a postal code/city search that will lead you to local distributors that are actual contractor supply stores and do not have the mark up of the big box stores like Home Depot, etc.

For anyone interested in the link, it is:

http://solutions.3...afety/Support/One/

Not only did I find a P100 6000 series today for $15.00, but the contractor store that the website sent me to even sells the step-up additional filters with organic protection (2097) for $8.00! Couldn't have happier. And yes, the large size was definitely more beneficial than medium. Thanks for the suggestions Terapro.

All in all, got this for a total of $23.00....

I rock the P100 from CT and have been very pleased with it so far, both both Urbex and car painting!

How did you find the fit and feel compared to the Stanley respirator Ground State?

opinions may vary.

True that! My opinion is the exact opposite of yours but respirators are an extremely personal piece of gear. One might have to try a whole bunch of them before finding the perfect one for them.

I owned (too) many respirators: McCordick, 3M, MSA, North 5500 series (grey Stanley model), Sperian, and North 7700 series (black silicone). I find the North 7700 series by far the easiest to breathe in and M size is a great fit on my face.

I guess one of the good things about not wanting to cross any borders with a respirator, is that I got to try a bunch of them and find which works best for me. Luckily, they're about half the price outside of Canada.

...too bad the filters aren't on sale

Cannot say, as I never did get to compare them. It was a 3M that I had before, and that I recently lost in an... ahem... an "incident". But it had been given to me, and idiotically I could not even remember what brand it was until Terapro mentioned 3M. So it was nice just get the same one back that I was already used to.
