I attempted to do a bit of a story with this set.. Please check out my Flickr for the whole thing.
It was a hot and humid Saturday evening, and I was on a country drive with a friend of mine, along back roads and through little hamlets and ghost towns. I had read online that there was a mainly-abandoned ghost town nearby, and we decided to check it out. After driving the only main road through the entire town and coming up with absolutely nothing, we hit a dead end and decided to turn around. A bit off into the distance I noticed what appeared to be a series of boarded up windows.
After a quick debate about if the car we were riding in could actually handle going 100m or so down an unmaintained dirt road, we went for it. As we neared the house we realized I was correct. A tiny little farmhouse stood a couple meters back from the road. It had all the telltale signs of an abandonment: the boarded windows, the caving roof, the overgrown yard. It looked pretty normal from the outside, just your typical rural abandonment. I never would’ve guessed what was to come.
