did anyone ever see tha blair witch project? Well i did and i didn't beleive that it was real at all. I'm not sure if you guys have the same opinion as me but here it goes:

Oddly enough the perfect way to disprove is this...not like anyone could think it's real anyways...would be to look up the actors names on the IMDB. They're all listed and I've seen Heather Donahue in quite a few movies since BWP. That and the fact that there was a sequel kinda kills any credibility to being real as well.

Just my 2 cents...

They did interviews with the actors after the movie was filmed. The actors replied that they filmed it all by ear. They were out there with the crew members who would come out at night in the woods and scare them. They had a movie plot, but no lines. They would each get a little peice of paper secretly each day that told them how to react to each other cast members. The actors didn't know what props would be set out and not notified when they would be confronted with scares, so that their surprised reactions were shown on screen.

I seriously hope that NO ONE actually thought that this movie was real. The only thing that made it scary was that it was filmed by shaky video cams and the dark blackouts on the screen when you didn't know what was going to pop up on the camera. It was a movie! If it was actual footage of missing people, it would be locked up in police custody, not making money on the big screen.

Even though I already knew the film wasn't real before I first saw it, I have to admit the last scene with the guy standing in the corner of the room quite creeped me out. It was so simple, yet effective.

I'm gonna have to agree with SK, the ending scene was pretty cool. True or not, it was a very creative idea and you have to give the guys props for the success it became. The part where they're in the woods and they freak out and run from the tents hearing childrens laughter and a baby crying... wow. Anyone who's ever spent time in the woods alone, especially those who've camped out alone (I did a few nights in solitude at a wilderness survival camp) understand how freaky it is to hear things surrounding you as you sleep.

The constant first person cameras became a problem to me, as there were some scenes that just felt unreasonable, like why they would be filming when they're running for their lives. Dedicated journalists? Or bullshit...

I was so tired at that point, I had forgotten the "story" of the witch, and to me it looked like he was takin a leak, from his posture and all......I laughed so hard, I woke everyone up

"The Blair Witch" was taken from an urban legend out of Tennessee called "The Bell witch" which is where the the entire idea came from.

The story runs something like this-
Jon Bell moved to Tennesse with his family, one day while out in the corn fields he came across a strange animal which he shot many times but it didn't die. It simply disappeared, supposedly after this happened the trouble began. The family began hearing sounds outside the house like someone was beating upon it, which got worse each passing night. The children where said to experience the worst of if with beatings and abuses, also the neighbors where said to have witnessed this also.

i liked the movie. I knew it wasn't real before I saw it though, because I know one of the crew members of the sound effects crew that helped make the movie. Heh.

That's cool THD. I knew it wasn't real either, although I did hear about it being based on another legend/story (ie. the bell witch). I remember when that movie came out, I went to the theatre to see it with my girlfriend, her brother and his girlfriend. I can't remember exactly what part it was in, but the screen went black for a bit, and silent.... then all of a sudden, my girlfriend's brother let's out this loud blood curdling scream. The whole fucking theatre jumped... it was hilarious!

you know, so many people shit on that movie. I don't understand why. I thought it was very original, and scary. "It's just an hour of shakey camera footage of some trees" is what everyone usually says. Jeez. Open your eyes and your mind a little.

Oh exactly, I mean it was a pretty decent piece of art if you ask me. I enjoyed it, although it had a rather cheesy story-line it was still interesting to see, and messed up. But I love that type of cult thing, the weird and not normal.

I also recall a song called Swamp Witch (by Jim Stafford) from back in the 70s, that had somewhat of a 'Blair Witch' idea to it:

O-h-h-h man! That is hilarious! I wish I was there to see that! I would have been p****ng myself laughing! Tell the guy, GREAT JOB! LOL

The damn constant camera shake is enough to make you sick. And remember the word "fuck" and you have 98% of the dialogue memorized.

Yeah...I think the hype was more entertaining than the actual movie.

The good news in this story is that a bunch of expensive movie executives got canned for missing the boat on this so-called 'sure thing' when the producers were looking for distribution and the Big Shots didn't bite.

The funny part of the whole Blair Witch Project was that at the start the majority of the general publice believed the movie to be true, and based in fact. Those Silly tin foiled hat people.

I knew the movie was fake from beginning to end, but that's mostly coz I saw "behind the scenes" stuff about how they used GPS trackers and whatnot while filming.

alot of people still think this movie is real..go browse the IMDB bords or blair witch bords sometime. They claim it was a movie based on the actualy footage -_-

That was the advertising copy for the film, you see. There isn't a lot of reason to believe it was real, especially since the actors have all gone on to appear in other things. But such is the way of the herd.

EDIT: I bet the fake documentary they had on the SciFi Channel also convinced a lot of people that it was actually real. They never should have done that, IMO.

Its the same people that think spinal tap was a documentary...
