| | | So went out on basically my first scouting mission in downtown toronto to scope out a spot and got some cool photos on the way to finding a good POE to a rooftop. Found an abodoned semi truck so went in the back didnt stay long seeing as there was a mattress there and looked like may have been someones bed. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

| | | Post by Jono The Wellington Incinerator and an old Toronto abattoir are just West of this site. Just follow Niagara Street and you'll run into them on the South side. Be sure to fuel-up at Thor first, though ; ) J-> | I recommend going on the weekends. It has active security guards but.... they seem to sod off on saturdays at least, I and a group of six or so went through the ENTIRE building taking photographs, for many hours, including the roof. But stay out of the incinerator, because as we were told by a friendly pickup-driving man, he couldn't give us access if he wanted to because public works is currently gutting it, and due to the two dead homeless they found there, it now has cameras, alarms, and he's said you would be arrested if you even went in WITH his permission.
| Every building and site has a story, and they are often of mistakes. Learn from them before they are gone forever. |

| | | Posted by Jono ...a charge that doesn't exist in this country. Look, as most of us know, 80% of this is just keeping your head + good timing. Of course, things can escalate (breaking + entering, all that jazz), but I wouldn't listen to a group who were illegally filming and have a vested interest in keeping other independents off of their emotional / subject territory. Just my gut reaction. But it seems to fit. J->
| Hadn't realized that. It did look like security was getting upped severely, although there was definitely still a very easy way in, despite their attempts with barbed wire fences. Any idea about the film itself? ie. was it about UrbExing or about Stan's life? I hope they didn't lose any of the equipment! | I only had a very brief exchange with them, but from what I gathered, it was a documentary about Stan's life and his collection. They didn't mention losing anything, so I don't think so.
