Locations We Lost In 2015 < on 12/28/2015 6:44 AM > | Reply with Quote
Every year the database of locations ebbs and flows. New locations are discovered and old locations are demolished. Either by legal demolition means, or arson, neglect, etc.
There's always that thought process of "Oh, well I'll come back to this another time" but in this hobby a next time is never guaranteed. My New Years Resolution is to stop procrastinating on explores and just go for them instead.
Please feel free add any locations you know of that were demolished in 2015! Here's just the few I know of.

Yea it seems that the cities have been busy this year, I haven't been able to explore lately due to certain things, but a lot of the houses that i am used to seeing on a daily basis driving to work and such, are gone now. some of them I've wanted to explore but I guess it one of those, you snooze you lose situations. too bad

Shame so many are gone, some I enjoyed very often are now gone as well, very few if any are in my local area now, and I have to really look around. It's got me KIND-OF hoping for some sort of economic catastrophe so that i can see some more buildings XD
Every building and site has a story, and they are often of mistakes. Learn from them before they are gone forever.

Some of these locations are absolutely spectacular. Really beautiful photography!
I had never heard of Norman Elder before your post, even though I grew up nearby. I imagine the painting in your photo is a portrait of him (I'm guessing, because of the horseback rider in the BG, and Elder was an Olympic equestrian).
What a fascinating and scary story his life is.
Who knew that just down the road there was a Galapagos turtle living with a sex offender...

This would actually probably do pretty well on the main board. But since Mookster already contributed from one different country, here is a breakdown of 10 formerly abandoned hospitals in New Jersey which were either renovated or demolished last year.
