Hi everyone, i'm new to UER. I'm trying to branch out in the exploration community and get to know some new people in it. I'm on OAP but I never really socialize or go to meets. I should probably change that.

This is my favorite location i've been to so far, I think. I went here last summer and apparently it's still around even though I heard it was bought and being renovated into something else. This was a camp for underprivileged children that has changed hands a number of times. I think the town of Caledon owns it now and has plans for it. Unfortunately these pictures aren't great because they were shot on an iphone, but I think it captures how interesting it was. It's also been plagued by arson, as you can see in one of the pictures.

Nice spot - hopefully #9 was made when the place was still active, and not written up by a bunch of teen vandals in response to their friend's drug-induced coma laying beside their bush-party fire. Kidding... given the elementary look to the handwriting, I'm sure it is the former.

Although there's no guarantee this place is abandoned due to cuts to programs like these, I'm willing to bet that was the case. Sad! But no worries; Xbox and Playstation will save the day!!

interesting, I hadn't thought much about this place since exploring it years ago, but was actually just talking with my stepmom about it this weekend. Apparently it's being redeveloped by the TRCA into an "outdoor center".

"XXXXXX Camp is being redeveloped. We are transforming it from a summer camp into an outdoor centre for participants of all ages, where people can come together to learn, live, play and share in experiences.

Major infrastucture projects are part of the first phase of revitalization for the XXXXXX Camp site, working with high school and post-secondary school students."

I heard about this too! I'm a university student, and on a student jobs website they were looking for kids last summer to help clear the camp and clean it up a little. I thought it was no longer "abandoned," until I saw another user post pictures from November. Now i'm not sure the fate of this place at all.
