	Anyone else on audioscrobbler? Here's my profile: http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/GasmaskGirl/ Audioscrobbler builds a profile of your musical taste using a plugin for your media player (Winamp, iTunes, XMMS etc..). Plugins send the name of every song you play to the Audioscrobbler server, which updates your musical profile with the new song. Every person with a plugin has their own page on this site which shows their listening statistics. The system automatically matches you to people with a similar music taste, and generates personalised recommendations. so basically.. you listen to songs on your computer.. it's automatically listed on your page... you can find other people who are also listening to those songs.. and you get pretty cool music recommended to you as well.

	I just started playing with a similar system, called irate... it starts you off with a set of randomly picked tracks and downloads them, you rate them, it picks more music based on your ratings, etc. etc. It's all indie artists, too, so no danger of getting your ass sued, heh. 	Heh, never mind with irate, I've already have several issues with the software, read their dev forums, and the developer is an asshole and is totally unwilling to listen to anyone's suggestions. So oh well on that. Too bad, as it seemed like a good idea too. Anyway, I just downloaded the audioscrobbler plugin, I'm waiting for the signup page to come back to life...

	that's too bad about irate, it sounded like a good idea. audioscrobbler totally kicks ass. it's kinda new still, so they have downtime once in a while to configure stuff.

The audioscrobbler people have a similar service I found, called Last.fm. Maybe it's worth a shot? I'll try it out and report back.

yeah he is.

i'm a fan of mostly his older stuff. portrait of an american family was my favorite manson album. His newer stuff is good too, but it doesn't grab me like the old stuff does.
