Any new infromation on the tornto linseed oil plant?

One of my explorer friends (not on the site unfortunately) asked me if I was game for exploring the linseed oil plant. I said yes because who wouldn't. However I then found out that he didnt do any scouting beyond some google streetview scouting. And it seems like the place was either demolished sometime in august or was hardened against exploring sometime in 2013.

Point being if somebody has been around there recently or has ever been around there I would like to know some stories.

It's still there. I think access is randomly available.

I have been there well over 10 times in the past year, and generally it's about a 70% chance when you go that there's a POE, and it will randomly get welded back up from time to time.
The building itself isn't exactly spectacular, as at this point it's really just empty and destroyed rooms, although I'd still say it's worth seeing if you're nearby.
However, I have heard that the restoration work on it has just started, so it may have changed.

Actually just was here on Friday. First thing is that the building is not even worth it anymore to be honest. The city has put ply wood over every window up to the roof so even if you do get inside its completely pitch dark. The only saving grace is the nice view from the rooftop. As well GO transit workers are using the site as a construction office and storage space while they put up new sound barriers all along those rails so mon-fri the place is swarming with workers and GO police as well as a few actual cops doing traffic control. Also the POE is tiny and its impossible to predict if it will be open.

I have to disagree, any available light plus a tripod and a long exposure can be your best friends in Linseed!

And you can do some great stuff in this very well lit room - or you can be like me and take this shot like everyone else does.

edit - unless these windows for this room have been boarded up

Thanks for the information. I will be trying to get in sometime this week and I will let you know how it goes.

I also realized that I misspelt Toronto in my title. Serves me right from posting from mobile.

You are in Oakville and haven't bothered to check?

I liked it better before the anti squat mesh was put up because it was wide open and it was strange having people randomly walking in like the brickworks before it was redeveloped.

It's definitely trashed, but still a cool explore. Last time I was there (2012ish), there were even some toilets that hadn't been smashed.

Not sure if OP is still interested, but I checked the place out this evening.

I could not locate a POE. Everything seems to be covered up by the metal mesh stuff.

Also, the restoration work seems to have begun. There are construction vehicles and materials on site now, although maybe they're just for the nearby train tracks.

I loved exploring Linseed! Once you're in, you can really take your time. Each room is unique and you can do some awesome lighting tricks in there for photos.

I ended up getting in and there was a POE you just need to search around inside the fence for it. But there are some photos for you guys and a very interesting story that deserves it's own thread.
