In CFB Gagetown lies a small military museum that has some armored vehicles on display in a streetlamp-lit parkade. I had to sigh in frustration at my attempts to get a badass photo of the vehicles underneath ugly-ass streetlamps last year. To my good fortune, they recently moved the T-72 tank away from the group and into a dark corner of the property. It's the only armored tank not currently in service that I know of that's parked somewhere dark enough to light-paint properly

From what I gathered the tank was used for a long, long time on the base for various exercises and tests before finally retiring here.

This place is open to the public, but NOT normally visited at midnight. I was under a constant creeping fear that I was lurking around suspiciously in a dark corner of an active military base (the museum is on base property) and would have to promptly and carefully explain myself to anyone who noticed me photographing and crawling around their tanks. My trust was that these photos shown to any inquiring personnel would suffice:

P.S. The tanks were appropriately, solidly and absolutely locked.

I included a few extras from my past endeavor last year:

Most are taken with a similar style, because I LOVE red on armor!

Attempted photo from last year. Notice how frustratingly bright the streetlamps were. All I had time for was one burst of Red flash before the street light would over expose and burn-out the image.

I pulled my hair out with this photo. I had to do some serious dodging and burning during the editing because the spray paint on the vehicle game some insanely uneven and horrible light refraction.

I really like how #3 (mainly because of the tread shadows) and #4 (because of mix of lighting) turned out. Neat!
