I was curious, so i gave the SAAQ a call, they said X plates are valid outside quebec, but transits are not. They did say that there have been hassles with US customs with X plates though. Especially since the new series of regular plates can start with an X as well
| Interesting...my information is from 7 years ago so I reached out to US CBP and found out this: All vehicles being driven into the US must have valid vehicle ownership and registration current. The problem that initially occurred with the Quebec X dealer plates was that initially, they were not showing up in the vehicle registration interchange system as Quebec didn't expect dealers to drive those cars to the US, so initially, they were denied for entry as well, they were showing up as invalid plates but that was fixed once SAAQ allowed those plates to show up for interchange. But then a new problem popped up. In Quebec, there was some car dealers that were taking cars off the lot, slapping X-plates on, driving the car over the border, trading the car with New York or Vermont car dealer, switching plates, then driving back across the border into Canada. The problem was that most of these vehicles were subject to taxes and duty in the US or Canada; so US CBP now scrutinizes those drivers with cars with dealer X-plates.

| | | Posted by nostra-YOUPPI! well just got notice from mazda, now the drivers airbag is part of the recall... of course they dont have the parts yet
| I bought an 05 Ranger FXII extended cab for my nephew last fall... it has been recalled. They already did the passenger side airbag and just got the drivers' side in a couple of weeks ago. Been procrastinating putting off making the appointment. Just put $600 into the truck for new brakes, rotors, calipers, brake hoses, rear brakes, drums, spring kit, axle seals, rear spring shackles, wipers, and oil change. Still have to call and have the windshield changed. Luckily, it's insured so it won't cost me anything. My dad and brother actually sprung for the parts for the truck, which was kind of funny in a peculiar sort of way.
