This weekend after a long wait i finally have been able to explore Jackson's creek underneath Peterborough. I had been waiting to do it for a long time however the river had been too high or the universe had been conspiring against me (me or my friends were busy). About the creek itself though, It runs about a km under down town Peterborough. The underground chunks are a few hundred meters long on average with 10-30 meter breaks in between. On each side of the creek there are curbs to stand on. The only problem with that is the amount of spider webs, if you are afraid of spiders you WILL be getting your shoes wet as you can simply walk in the 10Cm water in the middle for most of the way. I wont say specifics on how to get in/find this as it will be easy with google earth. Overall the trip was very fun and worth doing if you end up in Peterborough.
cheers, mullet
Ps. as you can see in the photos the different chunks of the system all seem to be built differently so if you're into architecture it should be fun to look at.
Pps. if youre going bring a flashlight a hat, gloves (optional just makes your life easier) and boots if you dont want wet feet.
