.....or was it Turn up the Hearn

.....Or Burn on the turn

......maybe Hearn on the turn

Oh....it was #TurnOntheHearn

Checked out Luminato last night with Terapr0, who it was great to finally meet after two+ years of scheduling conflicts!

Also bumped into Jono a couple of times, always a pleasure chatting with him, he was busy doing his thing as official photographer.

It was really cool to see the place all done up and how they have used the space, sadly you were not able to go in and see the theater they set up or MonkeyLunk's parkour set up, you had to have tickets to the events to see that part.

However, the ground floor is really cool as is the second level, but what a tease it is to see the other control room on the other side of the turbine hall - doors open and waiting.

They have done a great job it seems with beefing up security making it very difficult to get into the out of bounds places, it is surely not impossible but Terapr0 and didn't want to push our luck.

Anyway, enough blabbing - here are some pics I took last night

We've appreciated Hearn's grandeur for years before these events. It's great to see that the public can now enjoy the spaces we pioneered so many years ago. I'll never forget my first time running across the coal field in the pouring rain one mild February Sunday in 2006--I had a free Sunday and I couldn't wait for a nicer day. It was amazing. These contemporary events might not have even happened if people like us didn't explore and photograph the building.

Hearn in some ways is cooler with its 1950s brick facade than the larger plants that were built later in Ontario. Later plants didn't have the huge west-facing windows, for instance.

Great set! I hope I can get back there sometime soon for less officially designated photography, it's definitely cool seeing the space used for these events though.
