So there's this awesome abandoned chinese buffet that I scoped out the other night, everything is still in there and it would make for a great explore. Only problem is we heard voices inside while entering and saw used needles and signs of junkies. How should I go about exploring the spot and keeping myself safe? I still want to go at night.

Not sure why you want to go at night if you're worried about junkies. There are tons of threads on this topic anyway, use the search function.

Im going to agree with this. There is no secret technique to be learned by using the Internet forums, and no smartphone app for that. What youre talking about is the real world.

You can run with the big dogs or stay on the porch, if junkies scare you probably better stay on the porch.

You should be more concerned with crackheads than junkies. At least the junkies I've dealt with were quiet and predictable.

If this is a location that can be explored during the day, then perhaps you'd have less of a chance of running into them. Or is this place in a busy location where it would be easier to explore during the night?

Truth. Fear of junkies would preclude travel through much of the NE

That said I would advise against having sex with your hands ie Hep-C in the smallest cut or mucous membrane can infect you as many fire fighters and EMTs now know.
HIV isn't as infectious but is a concern. If you have HEP-B, exposure to the Delta Hep (HDV) strain will likely implode your liver. Finally if you don't already have your HEP-B vac set, get it.
B is also very contagious... don't say you weren't warned.

Keep your distance, make your presence know if you need to pass the room they're in. Unless their brains are fried from weird designer zombie drugs, these guys are people too and you can probably just talk to them. Heroin users are probably the least dangerous, when they're nodding out they can't even attack you. A heavy user will be physically a lot weaker than a healthy explorer.

If you do meet a zombie, think like a ninja.
