~ Stormy Saturday Morning ~

And again I did get through one hard and lonely work week. Week was evening shift (just like this is now) so I did get bed after midnight... just to wake up at 5:05, idea of getting on the road was burning in my mind. I did try to sleep, but it didn't work anymore, especially because weather forecast did show bad, rainy and stormy weather starting at 9 a clock. Of course I did start to think that if I would get somewhere before it...

Before 7 I was on the road and before 8 I was in the middle of nowhere, here in the forest. Last visit at March, so it did feel different again. Over 2 hours I did spent there alone, looking for photos, listening storm wind, rain and silence. And you can believe it did feel really, really good.

Stormy Saturday Morning:

Grey Sadness (Before the End):

Sleep Deep, My Child:

Silent Music (on the Bed):

Memory of Life:

Photographing Dead:

Still Standing Proud:

Everything Fades Away:

Summer Memories:

Colours in the Dark:

Stillness:

Broken on the Floor:

Summer Sadness:

Bag Made of Birchbark:

In the Attic:

Past Life:

-----

And then... traditional off-topic-bonus-picture. Weather have been at this summer amazingly bad, no need to get photographing nature at all, but something anyway at sometimes. Horse and bird:

That's it, thanks for watching.

Not much into houses but you made the most out of the clutter in some of those shots.
The bird, the glasses and of the cam of days gone by are my favs.
The fireplace/furnace is unusual and I'm really liking that
Cool fog horse/birds shot... is my fav.

I enjoyed these.

LOVE your Black and White Shots. I swear that bony carcass of a bird still looks like there is some life left in his eye. Summer memories is one of my faves along with your captivating horse and bird photo. Always enjoy your work.

Thank you very much, I'm really happy is that concept works because I really like to create these, deciding which photo comes when and of course creating those "turn your brains off" titles. Trying always get something from those photos to them, without thinking.

Happy to hear that, and next set is already waiting (from this morning). Also I did decide that I quit my job at the end of September. I bet that then you will get sick with publishing flood. xD

I really don't know what is in dead birds, but I really love aesthetics of them, there are something so fragile and beautiful and deep and strong and touching and... birds of death, ain't it cool if something is? I always enjoy your comments! And of course, it's saturday evening now so I must end this "did make me happy" answering session to CHEERS!!! Third pint ends... wait a second... NOW!

Awesome photos dude. Summer Memories is my favorite. I've seen so many happy pictures of big umbrellas on the beach so that's how I'm used to seeing them. You just turned that all upside down (literally.) The last photo with the horse and birds is simply stunning. Could you maybe send me a high res version so I can make it my desktop background?

as all above have said, these pics are amazing.

i LOVE skulls and skeletons, and "sleep deep, my child" is spectacular. all that remains are the bones with nil a trace of the body. that's rare.

the fabric in "silent music (on the bed)" and "colours in the dark" are so deliciously retro. it's so cool to come upon iconic gems like that.

and in "broken on the floor", you can almost hear the crack under foot.

uber kudos, though, for the photo names. and thank you for the lead in story. it is all so poetic.

Thank you very much, and that is probably same thing that have hit me in that umbrella view since first visit there, it looks so damned surreal. And thanks for asking, of course I can. Send me your email adress and I will sent it to you as soon as possible.

Yeah, I don't remember to see too many times on my trips dead birds... looking so much birds what comes to shape.

Thank you very much, I'm again quite speechless. ^^

Great to see another post from you! I'm glad you were able to get some time away from work to get out and take some more amazing shots! I also admire your perseverance in getting up so early haha.

So many good shots here, but I think Sleep Deep My Child, Summer Memories and the bonus pic are my favorites. Really digging the stove (furnace)to, these seem to pop up often in your photos and I always look forward to them.

I hope all goes smoothly with quitting your job and I wish you best of luck on your next endeavor!

Book is still in my dreams... sad that Finland is so small so it's hard to get publishers interested with marginal subjects. Not impossible (there already are few UE-related books released here) but hard. But dream lives on.

Thank you very much. ^^

Such a great variety of shots... so glad you got out. I try never to miss getting out exploring on stormy mornings, as it usually keeps people indoors. I find such days are particularly great for rural exploring because the weather usually keeps farmers out of their fields and gives one a bit more freedom to lurk around.

Your comment evokes my emotions (and I probably can't blame even yesterday evenings Long Track World Championship Final 3 (and few beers and whiskey of course) at my hometown). Thank you sooooooo much, and I will try to keep emotions alive at future too.

You know one of best points of stormy weather, I totally agree that and one reason why I love photographing especially in winter storms is that feel of loneliness; you KNOW that you are alone, because other people ain't too crazy to get outside then. That is really, really beautiful thing.
