Im trying to get some sort of local competition started , rural Texas , most of the Bubbas out here got ARs 1911s and shotguns suitable for turkey and dove.

Everyone had to have an AR after the last price gouge, now they don't like them most don't even use them.

Everyone wanted a 1911 because we all know you have to be an expert pistolero / bad ass to carry a 1911...

Nobody at our club will spend &700-$1100 on a 12ga autoloader they cant hunt dove with when they got an $1800 Browning Superposed in their safe. So Im going to arrange a course that even a guy with a H&R single shot can participate in, and open it up to all guns even revolvers.

I don't but I would like to. Namely I would want to do a vintage military 3 gun match if possible and run my SVT40 and Vis35 pistol with an period shotgun as well. I get tired of the standard WWII 3 gun where everybody has a 1911, M1, and an 1897.

I always thought the "cowboy" 3 gun matches were super cool too.

Ive been to a couple cowboy matches, kind of underwhelming actually they shoot squib loads in the handguns and rifles light birdshot in the shotguns like maybe one quarter of the regular pistol charge and the targets are really really close, guess theyre bar room close Im not sure but if you don't have the ability to do light reloads youre not going to be in it

I just got my 3 gun shotty put together its a Winchester Super X 2 holds 11+1, cycles as fast if not faster than an AR with light loads almost no recoil also cycles 3" mag buckshot loads interchangeably.

I coach SASP and have been roped into a few 3gun matches...
What's the question?

I don't check here much just wondered Im trying to generate some interest in 3 gun style matches at our club. Most of the shooters around here aren't used to shooting fast or moving.
