"as well as new commercial space and condominiums."
Well, that's disappointing. They've made such a killing with the tours (as limited as they are) I can't see them getting rid of them so quickly. I was hoping they'd keep it open as a museum of sorts and even expand the tours to include other buildings (or hell, just more of the buildings they did show!)
It's probably a historically designated building so if they tear things down inside of it I'm sure that'll raise hell with all the preservationists.

Just got an Email from St.Lawerence Parks, Tours of the Kingston Pen are going to start (again) in May, until October! Not sure if the tours have changed at all, but it's definitely running again.

I've always been fascinated with the entire city of Kingston. When my family came over from Ireland (late 1800s) they settled in Kingston for a couple years before moving to Boston permanently. We had two family members that disappeared without any record in Kingston. Always wondered if they ended up in the prison or the asylum.
I did a tour of Kingston Pen last fall, so worth it.
