I found this old farm house not long ago, and was able to get a few ok shots. I kept my wide angle lens on the entire time, and had to use HDR with some of them.

Was "The digital cow" I see in some of the photos done in post process or did you leave your mark on the place?

Oh, It's all in post. I have a brush on it's own layer, and then use the layer Fx for shadows, contour, etc. Most of the stuff I only use Lightroom to edit the Raw files, and usually have a static mark for that. Normally, I would set the opacity to 40%, to the point where it's barely visible if I needed it.

The saying "Take only photos, leave only footprints" has always been a good guide for me. I have only seen a few places with tagging that was good enough to want to photograph.

Thanks for noticing that, and I will try to make it look better.

Good shots of that house, love the linoleum in 5.

I want to say the television in 4 is a RCA Colortrak from around 1983-1985. My second TV was a Colortrak 2000 in a modern cabinet. I can't tell what brand the other television is, something makes me want to say it is a Sears product.

Those interior shots remind me of my grandmothers house and my childhood home.

My parents had a tv like the one in what I am guessing was the living room and they still have a deep freezer like the one on the porch. These pics just make me remember my childhood, a time when life was sooooo much simpler. So, suffice it to say, I really like them. I catch myself opening them back up and looking again. Its like its 1978 again

Its really not a big deal as far as the image goes. I was concerned that you were "marking your territory" in these places and was ready to add you to my "Will Never Explore With This Fucktard" list. Thanks for clearing it up, you're not on the list - yet. LOL

Thanks! That linoleum seems to get attention.

From what I can tell #4 is an RCA XL-100 and looks like it may be the earlier model before the Colortrak was added into the line. I have never followed that much, but I found this interesting since solid state was a big deal then.

The TV in #8 did indeed have Sears and "Channel Touch". Great eye for the old technology.

Thanks! It is similar for me that my Grandparents had a TV like in #8 and I remember that it seemed to last forever. I think it had the speakers on the side of the TV cabinet. That was back when MTV played music videos also.

Well, I guess that's a good list NOT to be on,LOL. I can understand if it looked that way. I change depending on what the picture is and the overall colors. Sometimes I will make it look like a bubble sticker on something small, etched into something, or almost as if it were painted. I think most times I let it blend with the surroundings. I prefer to put it somewhere in the photo that could not be cropped out and then blend it in where most times not many will notice, but the static mark is not bad either.

This is one frame from that scene that was just converted from Raw and has the static watermark. I meant to add this to the last response.

The issue of permanent markings does irritate me as well, and there are some occasions that I will spend time in Ps cloning the tags out. There is always that one place in an otherwise great location that somebody has to draw body parts on the wall.

Oh man, my dad had one of those! It was a 19 inch with plastic woodgrain on the sides. When he upgraded, I took that television and just ripped it apart. I at some point found the wires to the deflection coils and made me a very crude oscilloscope.

Last I remember using it, I had these two variable resistors hooked up to it from Rot-dio Shack that would make the lines on the screen do different things. Well being that the resistors came from Rot-dio Shack, them som bitches burned up.So that was that.

I know it was rather long story, but I hadn't thought about that television in a coon's age.

Now that you mention it, I do believe there was a thread dedicated to the sharing of pictures containing such content.

Sounds awesome. This one had the wood grain around the sides also, but it doesn't look like anybody will be lucky enough to use it for a DIY oscilloscope.

I may check that out and contribute if I am able to find those. This state seems to have its share, so I am certain I will run across something again.
