These photos are old (October 2016), but seeing as this once-infamous mansion was recently demolished (March 2017) I thought I'd share the story behind this eye-catching location and dispel the rumors (aka Fake News!) surrounding it.

[History Pre-Abandonment]
The 9000 SqFt mansion situated on 5 acres of land at 14740 Keele St in King City, ON was custom built in 1998 for British businessman George Fejer. Fejer moved to Canada in the 90’s and founded a business selling kit-car parts titled “Canadian All-Terrain Vehicle Manufacturing Co.” The company had several non-compliance issues and was dissolved in 2004. The business was co-owned by his son Robert Fejer who also lived in the residence but later moved back to the UK to start a new business venture, becoming the first developer of an android-based live streaming dash cam system.

(Jeff Green, Used with Permission)

In 2008 Jeff Green, the founder of a moving company bought the home and lived in it with his 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter between the ages of 8 – 17. In 2012 Jeff Green listed the house with Martin Sheikhan of the “Remax Performance Realty Inc.”. This is when the youtube video showing photos of the house was made.

(Used with Permission)

The 6 bathroom, 4 bedroom house sold for approx. $1,700,000 in late 2012 to a Real Estate Investor. The investor never took residence in the home, instead obtaining a license to grow medical marijuana there. This caused a fair bit of concern with neighbors who complained about the dangers of growing marijuana inside a home (fires, smell, etc.). A neighboring community had a public meeting to discuss mitigating the exposure of marijuana to children on Wednesday February 11th 2015.

In the early morning hours of Thursday February 12th 2015, just a few hours after the public meeting a fire in the foyer of the home was reported to local authorities. The cause of the fire was never publicly released, although it is suspected to be an electrical fire. No charges were laid and the property was abandoned.

Great post! Thanks for bringing it full circle.
I can't get over that pic with all of the cars. SMUG!
I wonder if that hawk/eagle centerpiece to the fountain was removed early on by the owner, or if someone snatched it after the initial abandonment.

I was curious about this one.
Excellent story.

Weed, the mansion killer... or is that greed?

great writeup and research. I'm glad I managed to get in and have a look before the demo, even if what I saw dark, boarded up and a shell of what once was.

I was, and still am, super interested as to why anybody would pay ~1.7million for this place to use as a commercial grow op, especially since they weren't planning to live there. It seems like an awful lot of money for a decidedly imperfect layout. I mean you could see they were just growing in random rooms of the house, dodging around the stupid bath tubs, tuck-taping down vapor barriers to isolate strains. The house didn't have enough power, the floorplan was wildly fragmented, things were spread across three floors. You would be SO much better off just leasing a commercial unit with adequate power and large, open spaces for maximum density and heat retention. I mean yes, of course you CAN grow weed inside of a bunch of small rooms with insufficient power, but why? If you're attempting to pursue a serious commercial endeavor, and have the capital to purchase a large, gaudy residence, why not buy the right kind of space to facilitate your success? I'm sure there's some reason though...it would be interesting to speak with those people and find out their side of the story
