This church in Toronto's west was built around 1900. In the early 2010s it was sold to developers who planned to turn it into church lofts. However a fire in 2014 destroyed much of the church interior and part of the skeleton they hoped to preserve. Some neighbours believe construction is halted, but from the looks of the inside, there is progress, but it has slowed to a crawl. This area is known not to be the nicest of places in Toronto's west end, so arson was the likely cause of the fire.

Nice find! I wish there were more of the original interior left, but it's good that the building's going to find a second life.

Some photos from June 2016. I'm not sure if anything has progressed since then.
The fire was pretty incredible to watch live online.

If you count boarding up almost all possible windows, then I guess you can say there's progress!

This site is technically active, because there are active construction lights and equipment on the property, but all construction seems to have progressed very slowly, and security at this place is a joke. (The guy who caught me didn't ask me to leave, he asked me why I didn't have a hard hat!)

As for your guess of the location, it is not Keele and Bloor. The three churches located near that intersection are alive and well!

Actually, yeah, looking at Fleeting's photos again, it seems like there's been some progress over the last couple of years. A few pipes here and there. Maybe an additional small fire.

When I went in 2016 there was no security.... just a couple of other local dudes from up the laneway who came by to salvage some bricks. And a cat. And raccoon poo.

Would have been better if you explored it before it was in ruins...
