John Deere (Welland) Status Update

It has been a long while since I have seen any photos come out of this location, and the last time I was here the administration/office areas were inaccessible. Since then, the property has fallen into a much more obvious state of abandonment, with POEs clearly visible upon drive-by. It looks as though every skid-mark in town has now been here, with just about all windows in the entire plant smashed. It seems that no further attempts at securing this location are being done, making it a secluded, extensive, easy property to access for some stress-free industrial photography.

Previous post with lots more (better) pics can be found here if interested in further visuals/info:

How bad are the ticks around the property this year? Zen and I found quite a few last year when we went.

The place looks like it's being trashed and cleaned up simultaneously.

I did a farmhouse explore this week nearby and picked up 5+3+1 ticks: took 5 of them off of my pants during the explore, when I noticed them. Took 3 more off of my legs later while driving on the highway. I had stripped down into shorts, so presumably they crawled up from my shoes. And disgustingly enough, the last 1 I found in my hair after I got home and was shampooing. That's the very first time one made it all the way up into my hairline. I wanted to throw up.

(As a side note, I spent an entire day this weekend exploring about 15 locations from King up to Barrie and didn't find a single tick on me). And I tore through some very thick underbrush on most of the stops.

I hate ticks.
Wear high top laced boots and either tuck the pants into them or tie them off tightly with the boot strings. You can seal with tape as well on top of this.
Apply the highest % of DEET to the boot tops and pant legs.
Afterwards a full strip down tick S&D mission.
May seem like time consuming overkill but the amount of suffering just one infected tick can cause makes it worth the trouble. I kept my hair buzzed cut just for this reason.
Check -everywhere- including underarms and groin.
Put clothing in a sealed bag; you don't want them in your house or car.
Haven't had a tick on me in years, I can't tell how happy that makes me... bitches.

Ticks love deer/deer paths and turkeys love to eat ticks; deer bad, turkeys good.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
