Here we go again with one from my last ”days of Freedom”, which means before getting back to work. I did find some information about sanatorium that were built at 1894 and which were working to 1972. After that it was used as riding school to 1984, and since it have been unused. There were owner that did look for this, trying to keep idiots out, but he did pass away few years ago.
I didn’t know if anything will even be left there anymore, but hey, 100+ kilometers to one direction for a light possible to see something new… And I think it was worth it. There were lot of buildings, so let’s start with those before best parts.
When arriving to that hill… first house were there immediately.
Not too much to see but somehow quite beautiful anyway.
After quick visit to that first one I did climb higher on that hill and soon there were next one.
Same there, empty destruction.
Porch view.
Searching more information… at least two buildings have burned. One by lightning, other by some idiots.
Stable:
More memories from riding school days.
August evening in oblivion…
More, more… more buildings did appear from that hill.
Such a beautiful door.
More buildings… for the stuff I suppose. Sad that they have so empty chaos inside.
And one more before getting to the best parts.
I did find some photos from 1905 from Finnish main museum’s webpages! I did print few of them wondering if I would be able to find those spots and retake them. I suppose you shouldn’t use those photos like this but… I couldn’t resist.
And then to the main building. Looking not too good from backside…
…but front side gives you at least hint of that what it must have been at it’s glory days.
I wish that I would have little bit wider object to catch whole view. This was from back room, where light did descend into darkness from the roof. Beautiful, really beautiful spot.
More beautiful doors… that haven’t let be (fucking idiots).
One of my favorite views there.
What this is… I really don’t know.
And then we shall enter to main hall. There were two of these, opposite sides of that hall. That other were even more badly damaged, someone have probably use lot of energy with big hammer to get it in that condition.
Silent piano music…
Bloody hell how beautiful counter! For a while I did dream that owner would appear and I could buy that one…
And then, finally we are here. Let your mind go empty, let time take you back… are you starting to hear gentle piano music and people talking…
Because now it is time. That magical moment where I did have printed photo on my hands and I were looking one frozen moment beyond 112 years from exactly same space; that really was something to know that it was real, they were just as alive then that I were now. That was magical.

And off-topic-bonus shall take us back to that magnificent “horses and humans” photographing session few weeks ago.
Wow, I made it with terrible hurry – now to the evening shift. Thanks for scrolling this far. J
