After a false start last weekend I needed a good explore to kick the year off and this one really delivered.

Normally I like to steer clear of these 'descend en masse' locations but sometimes these things just need to be done. Someone posted some really awful photos of this place on a Facebook page a few days back, and then someone else named it and the community went a bit crazy. I knew there would be a lot of people headed there this weekend so it simply needed to be done, and because it turned out to be only about 20 miles from my house I had no excuse to not do it.

So I boarded the tourbus and arrived just after 8am, and already there were about eight others inside. Despite how many people there were, everyone was very conscientious towards others when taking shots, which was nice. Me and my friend spent maybe an hour and a half there which is all you really need, and were gone by 9.45 - which was fortunate as by early afternoon a representative of the owners had turned up and turfed everyone out.

The house was originally constructed in 1865, and was briefly used as a rest and recuperation centre for the United States Air Force during the Second World War. After the war ended, the house was in need of major refurbishment but the costs were so great the owners instead opted to demolish a large portion of the building, leaving the house as it stands today.

The building was repossessed from it's owner in 2016 and has sat vacant since, but is currently on the market for many millions of pounds.

When i hit 10 I WAS IN LOVE.... WHAT A PLACE! GASP! Lovely captures! Oh Nooooo! 21 how sad. But, Indoor pool, outdoor pool Ohhhhh, I could gladly live out my days here. If you have more pics of this place PLEASE post them. Ive looked at these 4 times already.

Excellent stuff bud! That pool is pretty insane! And that staircase. Hopefully it will stay in good condition like this for awhile. But even if it doesn't, at least you got to see it in its prime!

I'm laughing to myself over here trying to imagine 8-10 explorers wandering around this place at the same time. Sounds a bit crowded.

The outdoor pool is beautiful. Do you know any backstory on the weird nazi props?
