...And desks. And couches, tables, radiators, recycling bins, lockers, mirrors, and all sorts of other bits of surplus furniture.
I went to tour a house for rent yesterday, and afterwards stopped to check out a nearby spot that I'd eyeballed on previous visits to the area. Having been unable to find any interior pictures or info online apart from when it was recently active, I wasn't sure if it would be at all viable to explore, but I thought I'd at least scout it and get some cool exteriors. The front parking lot is full of construction equipment, and there were plenty of (old) signs on the exterior doors warning of the alarm system inside, but it still gave off the sense that, yep, this would be worth my while. This was confirmed, and my worries about alarms soothed as I walked around the back side, and found a door slightly ajar. Thank you, o gods of urbex.
As I walked into the basement hallway, I could hear the faint hum of electricity. I hit the switch by my entrance, and all of the fluorescent lights flickered on down the length of the hall. That was my first "whoa" of the day. I've never explored a building with power before.
You'll probably be able to guess where some of the other "whoa's" came in.
1.) Hello, beautiful.
2.)
3.)
4.)
5.) "Whoa"
6.)
7.)
8.)
9.)
10.)
11.)

14.) Let There Be (fluorescent) Light
15.)
16.)
17.)
18.) Goodbye, for now.
I don't think I'll end up taking the house I originally made this trip to tour, but this beauty made it more than worthwhile. For various reasons, I thought that I would have to slow down with the exploration a little bit in 2018, but there's nothing like having such a cherry location fall into your lap to remind you that there's still so much out there to see. Thanks for looking, all!
