Would photos of cemeteries be considered urban exploration?

Abandoned cemeteries to be exact

A few years ago we purged graveyards from the database. You could say they're technically urban exploration, but so is trash left on the beach. And abandoned/active isn't much of a distinction when we're talking about graveyards.

If you think you have good pictures from a graveyard, you can probably try posting them, though they won't be validated in an LDB entry.

That's all I need to know. I wasn't sure, but now I know.

Thank you

The author Christopher Hitchens called tombstones "stone buoys that mark a drowned world". So in my opinion they fit in the general theme of UE.

Where are the people who lived in the houses, worked in the mills, and died in the hospitals we love to explore? For the most part, they are in the graveyards now.

Lol the graveyard better be not be active or I'm getting the hell out of there

Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is, are we living a life that is worth the harm?

I think that'd make it much more interesting to explore, to be honest.

well i posted pics of an abandoned house inside a cemetary, was a cool explore...and an abandoned church within a very small cemetary.

If you hop the fence in the middle of the night, a big cemetary full of crypts and old structures, trees and shadows...it is surprising how it can wake up and talk to you ,way more then a daytime visite thats for sure.

the one in montreal has 1,5 million people buried there, its so big that at night you feel totally immersed...you should really give them a chance.

the one in London i hear is amazing, huge and extremely old

I don't know or care if exploring cemeteries counts as urbex, but it's definitely something I enjoy.

I'm going to Glasgow next year and one place on my list is the Southern Necropolis, aka the home of the Gorbals Vampire.

A couple of years ago me and my kids explored the cemetery at Albany, a port town in Western Australia at night. It's an old cemetery by Australian standards, about 150 years old. Such a great place to visit by torchlight.

Ended up being a daytime explore, but still a cool old spot.

Graveyard apple tree? I wanted to eat one to see if it would give me magic powers or something, but I couldn't find one that hadn't been ravaged by birds.

Mural commemorating the Gorbals Vampire.
