This is old, dates back to 2011. But sharing nonetheless. Anyone know anything more about this place?

I recall the story, but don't remember how it all played out

If I remember correctly some guy got charged with conspiracy to forcibly confine his wife or something. I'll find the article.

Edit: well that was easier than I expected. Looks like the conviction went through.

"It was part of a list of about 100 century-old homes set to be torn down"

Ugh, I just got sad all over again.

Yeah I remember this case. Couple friends of mine actually were contacted by police because they had been to the house and seen the room. It had bottles of water and a bench with chains attached.

The house burnt down shortly after, too. Which just made the whole thing even more crazy.

I'm a suburban middle-aged man. I didn't get the handbook. If I build it, will they come? I'm soooo lonely....

I can no longer find the updated version of the story that contained this detail, but it wasn't hearsay: he eventually admitted in court that his wife was having an affair (or had left him) for another woman. His plan was to kidnap the other woman and lock her in the room.

Very Creepy.....

Pretty sure that was the house my ex and myself went to check out before that dungeon was discovered, never even made it inside the house. We had driven in down the driveway, Started poking around the outside and looking in the shed/barn structure attached to it, had a giant field behind the farm and we started hearing what sounded like a pack of wolves or dogs in the distance getting louder and closer. We ended running back to the truck as fast as possible and they sounded like they were reaching the tree line. As we hit the truck the sound of the dogs just disappeared, I stood there half in my truck standing on the running board for a few mins and not a sound. Needless to say, my gf wanted no part of this and just wanted to get out of dodge so we did...

About a month later is when that story made the news.. I'll have to check my photo archive from 2011, but I may just have some pictures of the outside of it!!
