| | | it's actually felt like summer here the past couple of days, I felt like driving, especially at night as its really quiet. So I go tooling up the northway (I-87 to non-New Yorkers) a couple of exits, turn around and head home. Gets the car out running, highway miles burn the carbon loose. Anyways, I get about three or four miles from Exit 32 southbound (Lewis to anyone paying attention) and almost tag a fucking a moose. I looked down at the gauges for just a second, looked up and there it was. For those who don't know me, I drive a 2012 Chevy Cruze. I stand on the brakes and crank to the right (87 is just two lanes) while Bullwinkle hotsteps to the left. I got the car stopped and got out... Yeah, I am standing in the middle of Interstate 87 at 1am yelling at a fucking moose... the moose looked back and gave me the equivalent of a moose fuck you and sauntered towards the northbound lane ready to cause more mayhem. so tonight, same deal, bored, beautiful night, some spare twenty-age in my pocket for gas and I head southbound on 87. Uneventful all the way down to Lake George where I spin the car around and head home. There is a parking area between exits 23 and 24 where I stopped and called a friend of mine over a text. So I finish the call, get out of the car to take a leak and this semi truck goes by sounding like something horrific has failed somewhere... it's shedding metal, sparks are going everywhere. Not thirty seconds later (87 is pretty dead around midnight during the week), this crossover goes by. BLAMMO! there goes a tire. Stops at the end of the on-ramp. I shrug and start to leave and the woman stops me... Cell service is bad from Lake George to Peru NY... there are even warning signs about it and no 24hour fuel stops. It's like blasting into the wasteland. So as I am talking to the woman, a car hits more of the truck wreckage. BOOM! blows a tire into the grass on the side of the ride. Another car... BOOM! it ends up in the median. At this point, I start to mosey up the next exit where I know there is service and called 911. About 10 miles up the road, there is that truck dead on the side of the road. I think if its nice tomorrow, i'm just going to stay home and play xbox.
