That's a wonderful selection of shots. I keep telling myself I need to take my film camera out more but for one reason or another it just never happens - I have shot a little bit but nothing near as good as how yours have come out.

These were all taken between 2012 and 2015...

Ugh, these are absolutely wonderful, and I especially love that first one of the cooling towers. What stock did you use?

Minolta Hi-Matic 7S, Orwo NP7. Old cinematic film expired 1988, obviously hasn't been stored well but it's still usable.

Posted by SheavyI send my film off to The Darkroom. I had tried using some local places that offered film developing but they were constantly botching stuff, not doing things as I asked etc.

Thanks for the recommendation. I sent in three rolls of Fuji Superia 400 Xtra (yes, I know) and just got the scans back, so I'll throw them up here. All shot with the Nikon EL2 with a Vivitar 24mm f2 lens.

First from a nearby marine salvage yard I visit all the time.

Lovely shooting, that last shot of the dummy looking out the window is absolutely outstanding though.

Finally sent about a dozen rolls of 120 and got them back last week. Further testing of my 6x9 Polaroid 600SE rig (essentially a neutered Mamiya Universal).

Wow a dozen rolls!
Are you tripoding or holding still inside?

Tripod; the camera weighs a ton and the viewfinder lines are optimized for peel-apart instant film vs. 6x9, so I'm framing these with a ground glass back.

Portra from an abandoned mall that's now sealed again.

Possibly overexposed this one due to a meter error.

This thread has some amazing color ranges and grain.

Anyone on here do their own developing? I tell myself I'd shoot 120 if I got into b/w home developing.

So you actually modified the camera or you have one of those 35 to 126 re loadable cartridges? I've a few 126 cameras that I've put some expired 126 film thru but they've all been to far expired.

Modified.
I ground down the sprocket catcher inside the back of the camera to keep it from pulling and tearing the film. You will have to dark shoot two photos (I shoot against my arm) in between real photos to keep enough space between exposures when winding.

I use an X-acto to put a quick notch the 35mm canister top so the camera's winder will mate to it.

In the dark, I unwind the film from the canister onto a marker cap or you can use the inside spool from a old doner 35mm canister. Either fits perfectly (although I am now using a little sealed roll I took out of a disposable camera to unwind into instead of the marker/donor roll - less light leaks)

Tape over the back window. You can add tape around any edges that may get leaks, or, I added felt from more old doner 35mm canister lips. But sometimes light leaks are cool too so, whatever you're going for. Less sealing on the Instamatic:

Ok I am officially in love with these lomo exposed sprocket shots. Makes me want to modify some of my old boxes lying around!

Anyway here are a couple from some old sets. I *think* these were on Fuji Superia 400

This makes me miss the challenge of 35mm but also not at the same time! ;)

^ Awesome shots, Shooting film there must've been fun. I wish I'd the photographer I am now when I went there years ago.

Thanks!

These were back when I first started getting into the photo aspect. I only got the chance to do one digital set there but had a run in with security and had to leave a lot sooner than I wanted. So bummed about that place, it was my legit favorite!
