here's a small collection of images I got from a lil trip to a local flood control channel (in socal) with some friends. we didn't explore too far (for fear of getting caught by people walking by on the bike path right above the channel) but i'm satisfied with these images and happy to know we now have a solid entry point.
1.
this is the entry point we chose, even though there was a fence surrounding it the gate was left wide open. we rode down to it on bikes, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to bring the bikes into the channel and ride down to a less sketchy part of town
2.
nice view looking out into the channel from the entry tunnel
3.
no turning back!
4.
another look into the channel, with a nice smokey cali sunset in the background
5.
this was taken right after i slid down the sidewall (there's no way you're going to be walking down it, it's slippery asf!) (plus im pretty sure it gave me some sort of butt hepatitis!)
6.
there were some train tracks that ran right over the channel, luckily only 1 went by while we were down there
7.
this shopping cart made a really good foreground subject for the rest of the time we were down there, plus it was fun to play around with and push it around
8.
another pic of the train tracks
9.
even though i had to stand in the "herpes water" (as my friends called it) for this picture, im really happy with this shot looking straight down the channel
10.
this has gotta be my favorite picture out of the ~20 i took down there, mostly for the perspective and the way the sun shines through the cart
