A few days ago Dan Lee, JennyUE, triple_t, and I went exploring to see what we could find. After checking several sealed locations in freezing temperatures, we finally lucked out on a really cool location.
This abandonment is the former site of a hazardous waste incinerator that was shut down in the early 1990's after some barrels that had been tampered with exploded inside the oven.

While the incinerator itself appears to have been demolished at an unknown date, the chemical storage tanks, pumping stations, garages, and control room all were intact.

The hatches on some of the smaller two or three story holding tanks were open, so I climbed up an incredibly icy ladder to take a picture inside the tank. The ladder was so icy I decided to keep my feet on the ground for the rest of the trip- though I hope to return when it's warmer to I can climb the many ladders there.

Can you see the bird nest?

The control room was pretty cool- the main control panel was even mostly intact.
9.
Several buildings around the property had circuit maps taped to various pieces of electronic equipment, including the control panel.
Dan Lee posted a thread about this location
here. He called it a chemical production plant because that was our best guess as to the location's purpose at the time of his posting- we didn't find out until right before I posted this that it was actually a hazardous waste incinerator.
Despite our setbacks early on, this location made the hours of travel well worth it. I'd love to go back again someday, and it was a pretty unique find.
